Cypherpunk Technologies launched a Zcash mining operation on August 18, 2026, which it describes as the largest of its kind in the world. The initiative resulted from a $33.33 million acquisition from Winklevoss-affiliated entities. The company already held 323,394 ZEC, representing approximately 1.92% of circulating supply. The mining fleet accounts for about 4.2 GSol/s, or 18% of the Zcash network’s hashrate, with a target of 20% by late October 2026.
