Cardano developers integrated Praos2, which combines the Ouroboros Praos consensus protocol with the Leios scaling system, into the main development branch, along with the LeiosNotify and LeiosFetch components. This progress prepares the introduction of Leios during the upcoming Dijkstra hard fork, with an initial three-to-fivefold increase in processing capacity. The Dijkstra testnet still awaits node version 11.2 and approval to activate the upgrade, while work on endorser-block selection and parameter governance remains unfinished. IOG plans to raise the maximum throughput from 4.5 kilobytes to 13.5-22.5 kilobytes of transaction data per second, and potentially to 45-67.5 kilobytes, subject to load testing and several governance approvals.
