Core developer Alexander Saefstroem is launching KaspaDollar, a decentralized stablecoin project backed by the native cryptocurrency of the Kaspa network. The team is asking the community to raise 5 million KAS by January 1, 2027, to fund protocol development, research, a security audit and the launch. The mechanism will be overcollateralized: users must lock crypto worth more than the dollars they issue, with part of the collateral liquidated if KAS crashes sharply. The roadmap targets deployment on the test network in May 2027 and production launch in September, while the fundraiser has currently collected 103,977 KAS, or about 2% of the target.
