Elon Musk says SpaceX has secured $40 billion in debt, mostly repayable ahead of maturity, to buy graphics processors for artificial intelligence, with deliveries planned for the first and second quarters of 2027. He claims lenders have largely cut off credit to neocloud companies without substantial revenue independent of their data centers, which could lead to the disappearance or consolidation of more than 200 players. SpaceX will not acquire any of them, while CoreWeave shares fell about 13% over the week ending October 23, closing at $54.24, and UBS cut its price target from $120 to $105. Goldman Sachs forecasts that cloud giants will borrow $250 billion this year and $400 billion in 2027, while Morgan Stanley estimates global AI-related debt issuance will exceed $570 billion in 2026.
