LND Tests A Guardrail Against Extreme External Bitcoin Fee Estimates

Share

LND’s v0.21.5-beta.rc1 release candidate, published on October 22, introduces a ceiling for fee estimates received from an external API. The fix limits estimates to 10,000 satoshis per virtual byte and also bounds the API’s minimum-relay estimate, preventing an abnormal or erroneous value from reaching fee-sensitive wallet operations. The prerelease requires no database migration and includes a fix for a native SQL connection-pool deadlock. Its release notes provide instructions for verifying signatures and binaries, but the GitHub page retains the prerelease designation. Node operators will still need to test the candidate in their own configuration before deciding whether to deploy it.
