W Group, the ecosystem behind the WhiteBIT cryptocurrency exchange, invested in derivatives provider SwapGlobal without disclosing the value of the deal. The funding is intended to provide SwapGlobal with more trading and working capital as it expands beyond crypto into foreign equities, computing power and digital assets. The company is preparing its first institutional pre-IPO transactions and plans to pay clients through a contractual payoff without transferring ownership of the shares. Hedge funds and asset managers are among the intended customers, while Marcel Boekhoorn and Amsterdam-based Kenzoll Capital are also identified as backers. The announcement does not specify the financial terms or settlement mechanics of the proposed contracts.
