Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang calls for US to keep attracting top tech talent

On the BG2 podcast on October 15, 2026, Jensen Huang called for the United States to continue attracting engineers and other international tech talent, including through immigration. He described welcoming the world’s best minds as a major competitive advantage and said Nvidia’s success would not have been possible without immigration. His comments came after a $100,000 fee was imposed on each new H-1B visa application in September 2025, with Nvidia among the technology industry’s largest sponsors, securing approximately 1,500 approvals in recent data. Huang supports a balanced framework to deter abuse while arguing that restrictions make international hiring slower and more expensive. He received the National Medal of Science on October 8, 2026, at a ceremony attended by other immigrant figures from the technology sector.
