He forecasts that up to 100,000 such games could launch within a year, many lasting only a few days, potentially attracting speculators while also increasing losses. The memecoin sector’s market capitalization nevertheless fell from $150.6 billion in December 2024 to $47.2 billion in November 2025, a 69% decline that illustrates the risks of another speculative wave. Demand remains limited: Dappradar tracked only $232.2 million in total value locked across 2,356 gaming decentralized applications, while the top 50 gaming tokens had a combined market capitalization of $3.8 billion. Illuvium nevertheless continues to pursue a sustainable model with Overworld, whose full release is targeted for the first quarter of 2027, while 32.8% of professionals surveyed by the Blockchain Game Alliance in 2025 had already implemented or experimented with artificial intelligence in game design.
