OpenAI, PerturbAI, and Scripps Research used nearly 2,000 agents from the GPT-Rosalind system to analyze in 32 minutes a CRISPR atlas covering 8 million mouse brain cells and nearly 2,000 disease-related genes. Human experts were projected to need several months to a year to complete the same work. The agents produced a publicly available reasoning atlas, cited more than 700 references, and were preferred by 75% of specialists in blinded evaluations, compared with 11 references for the single agent. They identified differences in the effects of Tsc1 and Tsc2, as well as a hypothesis linking DCTN1 to cholesterol regulation in neurons, a mechanism relevant to Perry syndrome. The findings still require experimental validation, and the preprint still needs peer review.
