La France insoumise presented on October 14 a counter-budget for 2027 proposing the creation of a Livret B, a savings product with a minimum lock-up period aimed at mobilizing household savings to finance strategic sectors. The funds collected would notably finance digital sovereignty, ecological transition, space, and maritime economy. French household financial assets amounted to approximately 6,550 billion euros in the first quarter of 2026. Éric Coquerel aims to make it more attractive than life insurance, which averaged 2.63% returns on euro funds in 2025. The precise terms of the Livret B, including its interest rate and lock-up duration, have not been announced.
