Google tightens crypto ad rules in UAE, requires licenses by Oct. 21

Google has announced a revision to its financial products policy, specifically targeting cryptocurrency advertisements in the United Arab Emirates. Starting October 21, companies wishing to advertise crypto products in the UAE will need to secure licenses from approved authorities, specifically the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) or the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), as well as Google certification. This change aligns with the UAE’s existing regulations for virtual asset advertising, which prohibit unlicensed entities, including foreign firms, from promoting virtual-asset services to UAE residents. Market participants view this development as a step toward greater regulatory clarity, which could positively influence Bitcoin adoption and price trajectory.
