Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, said at Italian Tech Week 2025 that he expects millions of people to be living in space by 2045, adding that this evolution will accelerate rapidly. He stated that robots will be sent to perform work on the Moon’s surface or elsewhere, rather than humans, for cost-effectiveness. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, predicted that in ten years, college graduates will hold entirely new and well-paid jobs in space. Elon Musk, whose SpaceX is valued at $1.95 trillion, anticipates human presence on Mars as soon as 2028, while Dylan Taylor, CEO of Voyager Technologies (valued at $3.8 billion), forecasts humans living and working in space in the early 2030s.
