David Schwartz, CTO Emeritus at Ripple, reported receiving a suspicious notification on his Android device that appeared to come from the SecuX Wallet app. The notification linked to a scam page asking users to input their 12 or 24-word wallet recovery phrase. Hardware wallet provider SecuX had announced emergency maintenance for its app on October 16. The exact origin of the notification remains unknown. Both Schwartz and SecuX have warned users against sharing their recovery phrases, as this information grants full control of wallet funds to anyone who obtains it.
