Visa and Mastercard announced on October 15 commercial solutions enabling cross-border payouts via the USDC stablecoin. Visa named Inyo Global as the first commercial enabler for Visa Direct payouts, while Mastercard launched its global platform through BVNK, allowing businesses to use stablecoin balances for local-currency bank payouts. Mastercard expects to expand coverage to over 40 currencies across more than 200 countries and territories by 2027, with Nuvei and Marqeta among the first integrators. These solutions separate the crypto funding choice from recipient preferences, as beneficiaries receive funds in traditional bank accounts. No data on transaction volumes or fee savings has been disclosed.
