ZKsync announced on October 13, 2026 Airbender Prime, the first Ethereum prover capable of generating proofs in real time on a single NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPU. Across 7,200 Ethereum mainnet blocks, the system proved 99% of blocks in under 10 seconds, with every block proved within 12 seconds, placing Airbender at the top of the ETHproofs.org public leaderboard for proving time, GPU efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Vitalik Buterin praised the team on October 15, 2026, calling the race for prover speed definitively won, but called for efforts to focus on formal verification of system security, prover cost bounds tied to gas fees, and zkEVM correctness.
