Lido reported that 40% of staked ETH is now running on 0x02 validators, up from approximately 32% previously. This migration follows the Pectra hard fork in May 2025, which raised the maximum effective balance per validator to 2,048 ETH via EIP-7251, replacing the previous 32 ETH cap. Lido’s Curated Module v2, launched on July 27, 2026, plans to consolidate over 8 million ETH, worth approximately $16 billion, from 265,000 legacy validators into roughly 4,000 active 0x02 validators. The Ethereum network is expected to drop from approximately 880,000 to 628,000 validators, representing a projected 29% reduction in consensus attestation traffic per epoch. Lido also introduced a bonding requirement for curated operators and plans to launch a Community Staking Module in Q4 2026 to enable permissionless participation.
