Tether participated in the seed funding round of EFY Finance, an El Salvador-based financial infrastructure company operating in more than 17 Latin American countries. The goal is to drive institutional adoption of its USDT and USAT tokens for cross-border payments and other financial services across the region. EFY Finance offers on-ramp and off-ramp services between local currencies and stablecoins, OTC trading and wallets, serving over 25,000 accounts and supporting more than 12 different currencies. The company holds a Digital Asset Service Provider license in El Salvador, enabling it to target institutional clients. This deal is part of Tether’s broader Latin America strategy, following a 20 million dollar investment in Argentine neobank Ualá in July 2026.
