Alibaba launched its Qwen smart glasses, initially called Quark AI Glasses, available in China since November 27, 2025. Two models are offered: the premium S1 with micro-OLED displays at 3,799 yuan (approximately $537) and the budget-friendly G1 at 1,899 yuan (around $268). The glasses run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform with Alibaba’s Qwen AI, featuring real-time translation, Alipay payments and Taobao shopping integration. The N1 series, including the Pro model with eye tracking and iris payments, was released on October 13, 2026. Alibaba aims to make these glasses a capable hands-free assistant, competing directly with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses by leveraging its commerce-payment ecosystem. The Qwen app recorded over 400 million downloads by late 2025.
