Nvidia is reportedly in talks to acquire Reflection AI, an artificial intelligence startup specializing in open-weight models that it already backs with approximately $800 million. Founded by former Google DeepMind researchers, the company reached a $25 billion pre-money valuation in its latest funding round, up from $8 billion previously. It launched its first model, Beam, with 501 billion parameters trained on 23.8 trillion tokens. Reflection AI has notably secured compute arrangements worth up to $6.3 billion with SpaceX and plans to build a 250 MW data center in South Korea with Shinsegae Group. The negotiations currently rest on a social media post and remain unconfirmed.
