NBA Commissioner Adam Silver remains confident about reaching a deal with EuroLeague to launch NBA Europe despite the rejection this week of a merger offer by EuroLeague’s shareholder clubs. The league plans to establish 12 permanent teams in European cities including London, Paris, Rome, Munich, Barcelona, Athens, and Madrid, targeting an October 2027 launch. Silver confirmed receiving bids of many hundreds of millions of dollars from European basketball clubs, major soccer brands, and wealthy individuals. The NBA also aims to send two WNBA teams to Macao for preseason games as early as next season.
