Monthly new money inflows into Bitcoin reached $4.9 billion as of October 5, according to Glassnode data. Bitcoin’s realized cap grew by $12.8 billion over the same period, more than double that amount. Existing holders accounted for three-fifths of this increase, with new inflows covering less than two-fifths. Bitcoin attempted to break above $87,000 four times since September 21, with each attempt failing. Short-term holders accounted for more than 80% of profit-taking during the first weekly close above $85,000.
