Mykhailo Fedorov pushes for AI on Ukraine’s battlefields

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s former defense minister, is calling for the immediate deployment of AI-powered robots on the front lines against Russia. According to him, Ukrainian drones account for 95% of Russian casualties, and over 700 UAV manufacturers are currently operating in the country. He supports the ‘Army of Robots’ initiative announced on September 26, 2026, which aims to deploy humanoid robots and enable autonomous assault operations within one year, with a target of achieving the first humanoid kill within six months. Dismissed from his post in July 2026, Fedorov has built a defense tech investment vehicle with backing from Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir.
