Wells Fargo is reportedly in talks with Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, about supplying crypto trading liquidity to the bank. Payward Services, its B2B division, already offers financial institutions access to crypto trading liquidity, custody, payments and settlement infrastructure. A potential deal would add Wells Fargo to Payward’s growing roster of traditional finance partners, including SoFi, which signed an agreement in September 2026, and BNY Mellon, in discussions since October 2026. Nasdaq’s investment in Payward in September 2026 valued the company at $21 billion. In Q2 2026, Payward reported $508 million in adjusted revenue, a 17% year-over-year increase, alongside 6.6 million funded accounts.
