The Sui network processed 40,614,180 transactions per second during a live demonstration at the Basecamp conference in Singapore on October 7, 2026. Independent auditor CertiK verified the figure in real time, far exceeding the initial target of 20 million transactions per second. This performance represents more than six times the previous record of 6,086,766 transactions per second set in July 2026 during an AI agent event. The technology behind this achievement relies on tunnels, programmable off-chain state channels that enable massive exchanges before final settlement on the main chain.
