Russia’s central bank has registered the first authorized cryptocurrency exchange operators and digital custodians, listing four exchange operators and five custodians. Sberbank, the country’s largest bank, is on the custodian list and plans to launch its first crypto products on December 1, supporting Bitcoin, Ether and USDt. This registration follows the cryptocurrency law signed in August by President Vladimir Putin, which establishes a regulated framework under the Bank of Russia’s oversight while maintaining the ban on using crypto for payments.
