BitGo targets prime brokerage as its main revenue engine

BitGo, a NYSE-listed digital asset infrastructure firm trading under the ticker BTGO since January 2026, is pivoting its business model to make prime brokerage its primary revenue engine. CEO Mike Belshe aims for the service line to account for 100% of the company’s revenue, with the firm operating through BitGo Bank & Trust, a federally chartered trust bank supporting over 1,550 digital assets with 250 million dollars in insurance coverage. In August 2026, BitGo acquired NYDIG’s institutional trading unit, strengthening its derivatives execution and financing capabilities. By September 2026, BitGo and Crossover Markets had surpassed 2 billion dollars in cumulative cleared volume. The IPO raised approximately 213 million dollars and valued the company above 2 billion dollars.
