Microsoft bets on enterprise AI as Nadella pushes Copilot as the ‘OS for work’

Microsoft 365 Copilot has reached 30 million paid subscribers, while the company’s AI services hit a 37 billion dollar annual revenue run rate. Azure revenue grew 43 percent year over year in fiscal Q4 2026, with full-year revenue exceeding 100 billion dollars. Nadella frames 2026 as the year AI moves from experimentation to enterprise impact, and Microsoft plans to leverage its proprietary MAI models to gain pricing flexibility and reduce reliance on outside model providers.
