Intercontinental Exchange and OKX, through their joint venture OKXICE, plan to launch a US tokenized securities trading platform operating around the clock under the SEC’s Innovation Exemption. The market will initially support 63 securities including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Coinbase and Circle, trading on Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on X Layer against stablecoins. The platform will use smart contracts to set prices independently from traditional NYSE or Nasdaq quotes, allowing tokenized stocks to continue absorbing information during nights and weekends. The SEC has imposed strict caps: 75 symbols maximum for Tier 1 securities and trading volume capped at 0.25% of prior month’s average daily volume per stock. The SEC exemption runs through September 17, 2031, though Cerebras Systems has already objected to having its shares traded on the platform.
