Treasury yields inch higher as investors await key jobs report

U.S. Treasury yields inched higher Friday, with the 10-year yield reaching 5.243% after touching multi-year lows the previous day. The 30-year yield rose to 5.618%, its highest level in 24 years, while European bond yields eased after a week of heavy selling. Investors are now focused on September’s U.S. jobs report, expected to show 84,000 job additions and unemployment steady at 4.1%. Markets price a 72% probability that the Federal Reserve will hold rates unchanged at its October meeting.
