SK Hynix’s $26.5 billion US listing powers the AI IPO wave

SK Hynix raised $26.5 billion with its US listing on July 10, 2026, setting a new record for the largest US listing by a foreign company, surpassing Alibaba’s 2014 record. The company sold 177.9 million American depositary receipts at $149 each, with shares opening around $170, a 14% jump from the offer price, and finishing the session up 14% to 17%. The South Korean firm, which held approximately 56% of the global high-bandwidth memory market in Q1 2026 and supplies chips to major players like Nvidia and Microsoft, reached a market capitalization of roughly $1.1 trillion at listing. US IPOs raised $36.1 billion in Q3 2026, making it the second-busiest quarter for US IPOs since 2021.
