Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget suffered a $387.5 million hack on September 24, 2026, the largest single crypto theft of the year. Stolen assets included roughly $157 million in XRP, along with ETH, USDT, USDC, ZEC, BNB, AVAX, and TRX. The attack, attributed to North Korean actors, exploited a zero-day vulnerability in a third-party security product. Bitget has a User Protection Fund exceeding $464 million to cover customer losses.
