Crypto: The White House accuses Democrats of burying the CLARITY Act

The White House accuses Senate Democrats of killing the CLARITY Act, a bill that had passed the House of Representatives 294 to 134 in July 2025. The 60-vote threshold in the Senate remains out of reach, notably due to the wall between the future law and the Trump family’s crypto activities, which is poisoning negotiations. Without legislation, SEC Chair Paul Atkins is advancing through regulatory means, faster but reversible with each change in presidency. November elections are closing the legislative window and the crypto lobby Fairshake, funded with over 260 million dollars by Coinbase, Ripple and Andreessen Horowitz, is attempting to influence the vote.
