Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5 on September 28 at the same list price as Sonnet 5. The company claims the model runs over 30% faster and costs up to 30% less per task. An independent benchmarking firm reached a different conclusion on cost once the model was pushed to its limits. The model approaches Opus performance levels while using more tokens.
