MongoDB CEO CJ Desai is joining Meta Platforms as chief enterprise platform officer, reporting directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. He will lead the new Meta Enterprise Platform for businesses and developers, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The announcement caused MongoDB shares to plummet 17%. MongoDB’s board has appointed Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO. Desai had taken over from Ittycheria in November 2025, who had served as CEO for 11 years.
