Meta Platforms announced the launch of a dedicated enterprise AI business and hired Chirantan « CJ » Desai, former President and CEO of MongoDB, to lead it. Desai left MongoDB on September 28, 2026, the same day Meta unveiled this new strategy. To fund this expansion, Meta raised its capital expenditure forecast to 130 billion dollars for 2026, up from 125 billion previously, primarily for AI infrastructure. The company also launched Muse Code in beta on September 22, a coding agent powered by its Muse Spark model. Following this departure, MongoDB reinstated Dev Ittycheria as interim leader to limit disruption.
