Ethereum is trading near $2,650, down 2.3% over 24 hours. Vitalik Buterin published an essay on September 27 titled “The Cryptographic World Computer” in which he argues that calling Ethereum a “blockchain” will soon be inaccurate. He outlined a roadmap leading to Hegotá, the 2027 upgrade he calls potentially the network’s last “normal” fork, after which recursive STARKs, automated formal verification, and quantum-resistant cryptography will take over. By 2030, Buterin projects slot times of four to eight seconds with finality in eight to 32 seconds. On the price side, a sustained move above $2,820 would expose the $3,000 level, with an aggressive target at $3,400 if $2,800 breaks decisively.
