Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade is nearing completion, with EIP-7928 close to its final development stage. The Sepolia fork is scheduled for October 6, 2026, followed by mainnet launch in Q4 2026 without an official date set. This upgrade centers on three goals: processing parallelization, capacity expansion, and database bloat prevention. ePBS is the headliner, revamping the block validation pipeline. Ethereum cofounder Vitalik Buterin also shared his vision for the post-Hegota era, describing Ethereum as a hybrid architecture combining blockchains and modern cryptography.
