Institutional investors are regaining control of the U.S. stock market after years of strong buying activity. According to Vanda Research, institutional options flows are approximately three times higher than a typical September despite the 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasury yields climbing to their highest levels in over a decade. Goldman Sachs found that retail investors’ share of S&P 500 trading volume has dropped more than three percentage points below the five-year moving average. Nevertheless, institutions continue to selectively buy artificial intelligence-related stocks, with Meta Platforms cited as a top pick, its shares having surged nearly 13% last week following the launch of the Muse Charm device.
