Circle Foundation has announced grants supporting digital payment projects at the United Nations Development Programme and World Food Programme. These initiatives aim to test whether regulated stablecoins can improve the speed, cost and transparency of aid distribution. WFP plans to evaluate two to three payment corridors over three years, while UNDP will create a Digital Asset Innovation Pool. These programs will test the compatibility between transfer speed and beneficiary protection, sanctions controls, local regulation and the conversion of digital value into local currencies. Circle Foundation is funded through Circle Internet Group’s commitment of 1% of its equity.
