The AI boom has unexpectedly solved one of Ethereum’s main infrastructure problems: the high cost of hardware for end users. Cofounder Vitalik Buterin confirmed this synergy by showing his Geth node occupied just 461 GiB after pruning. Thanks to the EIP-4444 standard and snap sync optimizations, a full node can now be synchronized in about 12 hours, with disk requirements below 0.5 TB. The upcoming Glamsterdam hard fork should further accelerate L1 synchronization. The Ethereum Foundation is also supporting the development of kohaku-cli, a command-line wallet designed to enhance user privacy.
