PayPal announced on March 17 that its dollar-pegged stablecoin PYUSD is now available in 70 new markets, up from just two countries previously (the United States and the United Kingdom). The circulating supply now exceeds $4 billion, roughly quadrupling from approximately $1 billion in August 2025, making it the seventh-largest stablecoin by market capitalization. Users in these new regions, particularly in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, can buy, hold, send, and receive PYUSD through their existing PayPal accounts, with the option to transfer to external wallets or convert holdings into local currencies. Many of the new markets also offer rewards on PYUSD holdings, though this feature is notably excluded in Singapore and the United Kingdom.
