Asia stocks rise on tech demand; oil prices fall as Saudi supply increases

Asian stock markets posted gains driven by robust demand for technology shares. The MSCI Asia-Pacific index, excluding Japan, rose by 0.7% for the sixth consecutive session, with South Korea’s KOSPI up 1.2% and Taiwan’s market gaining 0.9%. Oil prices declined, with Brent crude settling at $99.18 per barrel and U.S. crude at $90.14 per barrel. This drop follows Saudi Arabia’s resumption of its East-West Pipeline operations and exports from Yanbu, increasing Middle East supply. Market pricing now suggests a reduced likelihood of crude oil reaching a new all-time high by September 30.
