Oracle invests hundreds of billions in AI data centers, boosting Vertiv and Caterpillar

Oracle has committed 300 billion dollars in a multi-year compute agreement with OpenAI as part of the SoftBank-led Stargate initiative. The buildout spans campuses across Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Michigan, targeting a combined capacity of up to 10 gigawatts, with potential spending reaching 500 billion dollars. Oracle’s cloud infrastructure revenue surged 121% year-over-year in the most recent quarter, with over 300,000 GPUs already operational. Vertiv and Caterpillar have formalized a strategic partnership to supply the power management, cooling systems, and backup generation infrastructure essential for these high-density AI data centers.
