Base Labs, the research arm of AI infrastructure company Baseten, is partnering with Hugging Face and Goodfire to develop and publish methods for training and monitoring open-weight AI models. Goodfire, specializing in AI interpretability, raised $150 million in a Series B funding round in February 2026, reaching a $1.25 billion valuation. The three organizations plan to integrate runtime monitoring directly into Baseten’s deployment infrastructure, with Baseten becoming an official Hugging Face Inference Provider in August 2026.
