UK-based startup Emulate, founded in August 2026 by three former Google DeepMind researchers, is in negotiations to raise $700 million in a seed round at a pre-money valuation of approximately $3 billion, resulting in a post-money valuation of approximately $3.7 billion. This extraordinary sum for a seed round would make it one of the most richly valued seed-stage companies in history. The company is developing AI systems dedicated to simulating and predicting physical-world dynamics, building on work done on the Genie project at DeepMind. Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners are reportedly leading this funding round. Emulate is the third major spin-off from DeepMind in 2026, following Ineffable Intelligence ($1.1 billion raised) and Recursive Superintelligence (over $600 million).
