Lionel Messi extended his all-time record for goals in finals to 36 after scoring in another final. The Argentine forward surpassed Pelé’s previous benchmark of 29 goals by seven. Messi has appeared in more than 47 finals across club and international football, winning 33 of them for a win rate exceeding 70 percent. Approximately 31 of his 36 finals goals were scored during his time at Barcelona. Since joining Inter Miami in 2023, he has continued scoring in finals, including a goal in the 2026 Campeones Cup final against Cruz Azul.
