Zcash Labs has committed $80,000 to integrate the Ironwood protocol into Ledger products, providing users with more accessible private storage. This security upgrade comes as 88.5% of Orchard funds have already migrated to Ironwood, which now holds approximately 3.95 million ZEC against 415,000 for Orchard. Researchers have formally verified more than 2,700 theorems to strengthen the new protocol’s guarantees. However, adoption remains uneven: Gemini supports Ironwood withdrawals, but many other platforms have yet to complete the upgrade. Shielded activity now accounts for nearly 50% of daily transactions on the network.
