ERCOT, the Texas grid operator, has allocated a total conditional capacity of approximately 13.275 GW through its Batch Zero process, with over 5 GW specifically designated for AI deployments. Galaxy Digital emerged as the largest recipient with 4.23 GW across five Texas sites, followed by Cipher Digital with 3.2 GW and Core Scientific with 1.33 to 1.4 GW. ERCOT’s total interconnection queue now exceeds 438 to 474 GW, roughly five times the state’s current peak demand of approximately 91 GW. These allocations remain conditional and subject to verification as ERCOT seeks to separate serious projects from speculative ones in a queue where nearly 90% of requests come from data centers.
