Justin Sun announced the creation of the Justin Sun Prize, a decentralized, zero-trust academic bounty mechanism based on a list of mathematical problems, with a maximum prize of one million US dollars for a single problem. The inaugural one-million-dollar prize was awarded to OpenAI’s research team for its solution and formalized proof of the Existence and Smoothness of the Navier-Stokes Equations problem, with the proof produced by an OpenAI internal model and verified by GPT-6 Astra. The prize will be paid out in USDT on TRON or USDC on Ethereum, with a problem set including the Poincaré Conjecture, the Riemann Hypothesis, Goldbach’s Conjecture, and numerous unsolved problems proposed by mathematician Paul Erdős. The three guiding principles of the prize are openness, public benefit, and open-source access.
