Samsung participated in a 200 million euro (231 million dollar) Series A funding round for Euclyd, a Dutch AI chip startup, alongside investors including Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries. Founded in 2024, the company is developing AI chip systems with a different architecture than GPUs, dedicated to inference, aiming to reduce energy needs and costs for data centers. Samsung brings Euclyd its expertise in memory manufacturing, engineering and supply chain. Euclyd plans to launch its physical systems in 2028 and aims to serve thousands of enterprise customers by 2030, with two revenue streams: hardware sales and intellectual property licensing.
